Pink Pandas Win American League Pennant For 1st Time In Franchise History, Taking Down BFAM in 4 Games

The Mill Pond Pink Pandas are officially World Series bound after stunning the Elkhart BFAM in the American League Championship, three games to one, en route to their first ever American League Pennant. The Pink Pandas entered the league in 2020, going 7-23 in their inaugural season.

They saw their win total rise to 16 in 2022 and to 19 in 2023. Now in their 4th season, Mill Pond put it all together as they ended the year with 21 wins finishing with the #2 seed in the American League Playoffs. This group has had quite the impressive route to the title as they had to take down the Lakeport Bombers in the ALDS as they won that series in 3 games.

After taking down the Bombers led by 2024 AL MVP winner Brody Traxler, Mill Pond had their work cut out for them going up against BFAM. A good chunk of the BFAM roster was going for their 3rd straight ORWBL World Series title after winning Back 2 Back titles in 2022 and 2023 with the South Bend Truffle Butter.

BFAM went 25-5 in the regular season and appeared to be poised as ever to make it back to the World Series. The Pink Pandas were able to win Game 1 of the ALCS which was played at Walter Metts Field before BFAM evened up the series, winning Game 2.

Mill Pond would then have to travel out to Elkhart on the next day, needing 2 wins at The Lot which is no easy task. The Pink Pandas went into Elkhart and took both Games 3 & 4 to clinch the American League Pennant for the first time in franchise history. They won a low scoring affair in Game 3 before having to play from behind in Game 4.

Trailing 6-5, Rookie Tommy Sullivan drove in Aaron Hogan to tie up the Game in the top of the 6th. Pink Pandas Star Zach Christy would then hit the most important HR of his career as he blasted the go ahead HR to put Mill Pond on top. The Pink Pandas were then able to hold off Elkhart in the bottom of the 6th to win a memorable game by the score of 7-6.

It was pure elation for the Mill Pond players and fans as the Pink Pandas sideline erupted after recording the final out. It was a statement series win for the ages as not too many people outside of Mill Pond/Union Mills saw this one coming.

Now in just their 4th season, the Mill Pond Pink Pandas will look to win their first ORWBL World Series title in what has turned into a storybook season for them. They will travel to Migley Field for Games 1, 2, and 3 on Sunday, August 25th before hosting their first ever World Series home games on Sunday, September 1st.
