Panthers limit Goon Squad to 2 runs in Opening Day sweep
GRANGER- The Granger Panthers and Union Mills Goon Squad was the first series to kick things off on Opening Day. With the wind blowing in all series long, runs were extremely hard to come by, even for the Panthers who normally have no problems scoring.
Panthers ace Griffin Smith was in mid season form all series long as the Panthers played stellar defense behind Smith, as they shutout the Goon Squad in both Games 1 & 2 of the series.
Looking to avoid the sweep, Union Mills was finally able to put some runs on the board as they scored a pair. However, it was not enough as Seth Campbell led the way for the Panthers en route to a sweep.
Panthers star Left Fielder Seth Campbell led the way for Granger as he hit 4 Home Runs to go along with 8 RBI's. Granger (3-0) will stay at home as they will welcome Rolling Prairie (2-1) who they eliminated in Granger back in the 2018 postseason.
Union Mills (0-3) will have no time for sorrows as they have another tough road matchup next Sunday as they travel to The Barnyard to face the Flat Rock Cyclones (3-0).
