New Carlisle's Hernandez Records 500th Hit

NEW CARLISLE - New Carlisle Newt veteran Danny Hernandez recorded his 500th career hit during Wednesday's series against the Saugany Lake Landsharks. In doing so, Hernandez became just the 7th player in ORWBL history to reach the historic benchmark.

Hernandez, now in his 8th ORWBL season, has split his service between the Cult West Warriors (2012-2015) and the New Carlisle Newts (2016-present). In that time the lefty has won 3 ORWBL championships (2012, 2015, 2016) and has been selected to play in 4 All-Star games.

The 3-time ORWBL champ joins teammates Koby Keck, Scott Soos, and Garrett Curless in the 500 hit club. The Newts currently posses four of the top seven hit leaders in league history.

In addition to his 500+ hits, Hernandez has amassed 210 HR's and 402 RBI's in his historic career. Those numbers each rank in the top 10 all-time.
