Godfather's GM, Matador Smith strikes gold in the free agent market less than 2 months until Ope
NILES, MI- It was a quiet evening winding down across Northwest Indiana and Niles Michigan. The Great Lakes Godfathers, already looking like they were going to take another step forward this season. General Manager Matador Smith decided it was time to break the big news!
The Godfathers grizzled GM announced via the team's official twitter account that they have signed former Cabo Yabos: Ryan Warmoth, Cory Kronewitter, Nick Thoman, Dan the Cat Zeiger, as well as Eric Woodrich.
This plethora of signings could turn out to be huge if they can get some consistency from a couple of those guys on a regular basis alongside Haase, Matador, O'Hara, Will Smith, and Brian Shembarger. Of course, we can't forget Billy Beckman who had glimpses of excellence for a. while during the 2017 season.
The Cabo Yabo guys could not be a better fit for the Godfathers and the same can be said both ways as both teams really seemed to get along in both league and tournament play. Now, this talented group will work together in 2019 with hopes of winning their first ever playoff series plus much more.
The expectations are as high as they have ever been for Great Lakes who seems to be the most popular pick of teams that could dethrone the Magic and their streak of AL East titles.
After losing Nate Arndt in free agency, Matador figures to be on the bump most of the time as this team should mesh quite well both on and off the field as the sarcastic nature between these guys is just classic. American League: Watch out, the Godfathers are coming, very very soon.
