Heat sweep Landsharks on Cinco De Mayo
SAUGANY LAKE- After three key players left the Hudson Lake Heat this offseason to create a franchise in Saugany Lake, both teams knew that it would be a heated matchup when these two teams met up. It just so happened that these two teams opened up the season on Cinco De Mayo at Cody Strauch Memorial Park.
Strauch was set to be a member of the Landsharks before he tragically passed away in a car accident over the winter. The Landsharks honored Strauch before the game with a moment of silence while also welcoming Cody Strauch's father out to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Unfortunately for the Landsharks, it was Hudson Lake who controlled the series once things got under way. The Heat regulars did what they do best as they had a formidable day at the plate while the addition of Jasen Webb showed that it is going to be a huge boost to the Heat's Defense this year.
The Heat now sit at 3-0 and will face off against the other 3-0 team from the AL, the Great Lakes Godfathers on May 17th. Meanwhile, the Landsharks will look to get their first ever series win as they will take on the South Bend Muffs at 6pm ET on Saturday, May 12th.
