Griffin Smith captures 2017 HR Derby Crown
NEW CARLISLE- For the second straight year, the ORWBL Home Run Derby featured a timed, bracket style format. Ten of the twelve ORWBL teams were represented while Granger and Maple City earned the right to send 2 sluggers into the Derby.
That paid off in a huge way for Granger as it ended up being an all Panther final as Griffin Smith matched up against Seth Campbell. When it was all said and done, it was Griffin Smith who walked away as the 2017 ORWBL Home Run Derby Champion.
This ended an incredible run by Scott Soos who had won the previous 3 Home Run Derby's. Expect to see Smith competing for the Home Run Derby for many years to come as the league continues to get younger. All in all, ORWBL sluggers were able to put on an exciting show for all of the fans that made their way to Migley.
