Magic get revenge on Dactyls' with a 2-0 ALDS Sweep
LA PORTE- Maple City picked up their first postseason series win since the 2013 ALCS as they swept the Pterodactyls (2-0) in the ALDS Best of 3 series. These 2 teams met up in the ALDS at Magic Park in 2014 and Dactyls' shocked the Magic in 3 games.
Maple City clearly had revenge on their mind as they easily took 2 from Bourissa Hills (32-20) and (28-13). The Magic set the tone for the series early as they scored 16 runs in the bottom of the 1st before even getting an out.
Maple City's trio of Wes Ellis, Zach Liberatore, and John Arndt are currently hitting on all cylinders, making Maple City an extremely difficult team to play. Ellis continued to help his cause as an AL MVP Candidate by going an astonishing 15-17 in the series while also picking up the win on the mound in Game 1.
Game 2 had a similar feel after the 1st inning as Maple City held a 10-2 lead after 1. It was a great day for Magic hitters as Eric Johnson and Bronson Severs recorded the only 2 cycles in Maple City postseason history.
The Magic will now gear up for what should be a very exciting ALCS with the Hudson Lake Heat. Hudson Lake took 2 of 3 from Maple City earlier this season right before the mid season trade. This is clearly a different Maple City team now however, as the Magic have gone 11-1 since acquiring John Arndt back in mid June.
