Luther to Jet City, Arndt to Maple City in blockbuster trade
NEW CARLISLE- After a shocking turn of events, the Maple City Magic have traded long time OF Drew Luther to the Jet City Junkballers in exchange for Wiffleball Hall of Famer John Arndt and a case of Gatorade.
After some locker room issues in Maple City, Luther demanded a trade to Magic Manager Alex Friedman. Later that day, Friedman and Nate Arndt officially agreed on the blockbuster trade that certainly will shift the landscape of the league.
It was a very unexpected move as Luther has been with the Magic for 5 seasons and was one of the major reasons for Maple City's improvement in the league. The Magic signed Luther away from the Federalists on brought Shane Anderson with him before the 2012 season. After many close calls, both sides decided that it was time for the next chapter.
As for Jet City, it also came as a surprise that Manager Nate Arndt traded his dad to the Magic. Clearly both teams were searching for something new and both hope that this trade can help them going forward. Both of these teams will meet up on the 2nd to last weekend of the regular season at Old Rock Park and it figures to be a series that could decide who wins the #1 overall seed in the American League.
This is one of biggest trades in ORWBL history as we have rarely seen trades involving big names on both sides. Arndt boasts a .573 lifetime average while Luther is not far being at .565. Both players rank in the top 20 in all 4 major hitting categories with Luther having the 6th most all time hits in ORWBL with 414.
